Get ready to take a musical road trip across the Americas with guest conductor José-Luis Novo at the helm. The evening kicks off with Silvestre Revueltas' Redes: Suite, which is basically a party in Mexico bottled up in sound—think vibrant rhythms and landscapes that might just make you want to salsa right out of your seat. Then we have the ever-talented Jessica Mathaes taking center stage to show why Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto, Op. 14 is the romantic heartthrob of classical music. Seriously, if emotions were a sports team, this concerto would be their star player.
And just when you thought the night couldn't get any better, we'll wrap things up with Antonín Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95, famously known as From the . This piece is like a love letter from Dvo?ák to America, sprinkled with folk tunes and reflections from his time in the States. So come for the music, stay for the musical education, and we promise you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for the whole "Americas" thing. Who knew history could sound this good?
